Title Nine FitFest (and Giveaway!)

If you live here in the Bay Area, you are probably already familiar with Title Nine– a women’s athletic apparel and casual clothing store that makes and specializes in high quality sports bras, tops, bottoms, skirts, skorts, capris, and everything else in between.  I’ve been a fan of Title Nine for a few years now and have always loved their swimwear but have never tried any of their workout clothing so when they invited me to attend a special “FitFest” event and get professionally fitted by a T9 Bravangelist for a brand new sports bra, I happily RSVPed!*

As every female athlete knows (or should know!), the most important foundation for any workout is a bra designed specifically for your unique body type, size and activity. The bra experts at Title Nine are making it easier and a lot more fun to find the perfect bra by hosting a series of “FitFest” events during the summer here in the Bay Area to help every athlete find her perfect bra for a more comfortable and healthier workout.

When I stepped into the T9 Berkeley store, I was greeted warmly by bra expert Amy who immediately welcomed me and began asking questions about the type and size of bra I currently wear, the activities I do the most, and anything I dislike (colors included) when it comes to sports bras. After I told Amy my current size, love for bra-like sports bras with hook-and-eye clasps and adjustable shoulder straps, and hate for the color yellow, she measured me and began pulling bras off the wall for me to try on.

I tried on several different brands and types- all to my specifications for high-impact running bras- and finally settled on a Title Nine brand white bra, the Tech Athena (pictured above). Amy chose a size that I had never ever worn before- one full size smaller in the torso and a much bigger in the cup (I have always worn a 36C, Amy fitted me in a 34DD!!!). To my total surprise, they all fit so much better than any bra I’ve ever chosen for myself- FitFest is like boobie graduation day!

I took my new bra on a quick run today and it was pretty much a perfect match- just the right amount of support, no weighing down on the shoulders, and a wicking material that kept my usual cleavage sweat drippage totally dry! YES!!! (And thank you, again, Title Nine!)

I choose my sports bras based on cost, fit, and neutral colors. My faves are currently Nike and Moving Comfort, but I definitely have to check out the Title9 ones… I always get a kick out of the names they give their bras.

  2. Tanijia

I like sports bras that has a cool and breezy texture so that I want sweat that fast and I love bright colors and the style has to be cute I prefer Nike

I like a sports bra with maximum support. I need adjustable straps and an adjustable band. I prefer bras that provide separation and shape but those are secondary to support and being adjustable. I like all colors and brands as long as they have what I’m looking for.

I admit, I use to just look for cuteness, but as I get older and my runs get longer, I now look for support, something that breathes well, and it MUST have comfy straps.

I do not usually choose a sports bra and have no favorites =) I would like to win for a special friend!

I usually pick a sports bra by trying on a ton of them! I look for a bra with good support and ideally, one that still gives me some shape – I don’t like the look of one uni-boob, I like it to look more natural.
